Artist's Description

In Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts. The "Glacial Potholes" began to form after the last glacier age when the Deerfield River first started to flow over these rocks, about 14,000 years ago. There are more than 50 potholes to explore, ranging in size from 6 inches to 39 feet in diameter. This is one of the largest known concentrations of potholes and the location of the largest pothole on record, as well. On my first trip here, I didn't see any of the potholes because the water level was high.

About Catherine Gagne

Catherine Gagne

There is no better way to release stress than to travel around with a camera. Seeing all the beauty that my native New England has to offer is the best medicine in the world. Walking down a trail and hearing a waterfall before you see it is music to my ears, walking in a garden is nature's art for my eyes, hearing the waves bounce off rocks by lighthouses soothes the soul, walking across a covered bridge over one hundred years old brings joy to my heart. I hope everyone takes the time to see and enjoy the beauty this world freely gives us all. Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my pictures.
